INCOMING HIT: Dragonette – Let it Go [Electro-Pop]

2 04 2012

You’ll probably recognize Dragonette from Martin Solveig’s chart-topping “Hello” but here they are with their original track “Let it Go”. The upbeat synths and cheery piano are complemented perfectly by Martina Sorbara’s signature vocals. Add in some distorted guitar to give it some edge and you’ve got a recipe for success. This is the kind of music that I could see just maybe hitting the charts but we’ll just have to wait and see. I really hope I can hear this song on the radio and not Nicki Minaj’s godawful “Starships”.

INCOMING HIT: Hoodie Allen – No Interruption

29 03 2012

This is straight fire. Seriously. My mind was just blown and I’m listening to this song for the fifth time on repeat since I downloaded it 20 minutes ago. It’s so good I actually PAID for it. Yes that’s right I paid for music. It’s been fascinating seeing Hoodie Allen’s evolution from Bagels & Beats to Pep Rally to Leap Year and now to All American. While some Hoodie purists may resent his transition to singing his own hooks but it’s a step in the right direction for Hoodie to become big. I’m confident this song might just be the one to push Hoodie mainstream. If it isn’t I really don’t what will be. The song is so fucking catchy AHHHHHHH.

Sidenote: Seeing him at Wrongbar in Toronto on April 28th. Can’t wait!
